Like most modern writers of Lovecraftiana (including myself), this writer has captured much of the "feel" of a Lovecraft story, but the influence of King, Barker, etc, has also caused us to want to spend more time on the gory parts. This is a fun read, and well worth the price of the book. It's much better than most of the Lovecraftian books being written today.
